Care Instructions for Deruta Earthenware products.
Pouring boiling water directly into a cold or room-temperature Deruta pot is not recommended, as the sudden temperature change may cause thermal shock, potentially resulting in cracking or breakage.
All Deruta products by Artistica are crafted from handcrafted Italian majolica, a tin-glazed earthenware. Like all other earthenware products from any brand, majolica is more sensitive to rapid and extreme temperature changes than high-fired stoneware or porcelain.

For the safest use with hot liquids:
• Pre-warm the pot gradually by rinsing the interior with warm tap water.
• Temper the pot by adding a small amount of warm water first, then slowly adding the hot liquid.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes, including pouring boiling water directly into a cold pot or placing a hot pot on a cold surface.
• Do not use the pot on a stovetop or in a microwave, as direct heat or microwave heating may damage the earthenware.
