Claudio Monotti was recently nominated in the Best 12 Deruta's Master Artists.
These three plates are true original masterpieces, one of a kind pieces by Maestro Monotti ; they are part of the "Love Set" depicting "Amore" saying:
"Amore e' Grazia" (Love is Grace) and "Amore e' Forza" (Love is Strength)
Born in Rome in 1936 when he was very young he moved to Perugia where he graduated from the ceramics section of the Art Institute in 1953.
He immediately found work in Deruta holding positions of technical director at various local factories and collaborating with the "Ars Artigiana" and the "Mari & C." factory.
Subsequently, he opened, with his son Pierluigi, a laboratory called "Maioliche Monotti", since 1963, alongside artistic production, the didactic activity at the Institute of Art for Ceramics in Deruta and the work of restorer and writer of essays on ceramic.
