Ornato Verde

Our new and exclusive Ornato Verde collection is a variation of a Deruta classic: the Deruta Vario.

The Vario collection feature an intricate Deruta design exclusively created for Artistica with subtle color theme but the most elaborate part of this design are the different color shades implemented in the beautiful foliated scrollwork motif.

This new design is masterfully hand painted substituting the traditional Deruta Blue with a more contemporary Lime Green, Orange/Red and a subtle Light Blue trimming with a glossy glaze finish.

Color shading is a very difficult technique in hand painted ceramics that requires years of experience.
The Vario design was employed in the architectural decorations of late Roman and Renaissance periods.
