Our all new Scavo Uva (Grape) collection features an
elaborate grapevine motif whose original mold was
completely hand sculptured.
The handles of these pieces are hand carved to resemble
a vine branch, a refined artist’s touch to complete the
Mediterranean wine country look of this
Tuscan collection.
Like any scavo item, each piece is hand finished with
our exclusive “Old World” medium brown patina and the
sculptured grape and leaf bas-relief design is
highlighted with dark antiquing and intentionally flawed
to achieve the well-used look of a much older piece.
In the Renaissance era, colored glazes
were produced by introducing a variety of minerals into
the clay such as ferric oxide for yellows and browns,
because these pigments were the most easily attainable. |
