Vecchia Deruta (Old Deruta) is a richer and more formal
version of the renowned 'Ricco Deruta' pattern.
Featuring scalloped rim plates with a dominant royal
blue trim.
Both inspired by the frescoes of the master Renaissance
artist Raphael.
If official documents do establish that Deruta pottery
and Deruta ceramics has been produced since the XIII
century, we have reasons to believe that the beginning
of such an activity has to be established at least one
century earlier.
