Majolica Montelupo Pappagallo
Majolica Parrot Design
Our timeless Majolica Pappagallo collection feature three inimitable
works of art from our Italian master
ceramists: a distinctive Tuscan classic design depicting parrot
birds, which origin was traced back to the year 1606. Fragments of
original pottery pieces depicting the antique “Montelupo Pappagallo”
design are currently on display at the Archaeology and Ceramics
Museum located in the town of Montelupo Fiorentino, near Florence in
Tuscany.
Like most of top of the line products, these “Parrot Design” pieces
were created with the ancient Tuscan “Ingobbio” techniques, and
therefore they have an authentic “Old World” look with great depth
of color and appealing texture.
This complex technique is now used by very few Tuscan artisans,
which makes these items very hard to find. |
