Renowned for their large pillar that burn both beautifully and properly and for their Self Trimming Wicks as Park Avenue only uses Cotton and Self Trimming Wicks in all their candles.

The purpose of a wick is to deliver fuel (wax) to the flame. Acting like a fuel pump, the wick draws the liquefied wax up into the flame to burn. Different wick sizes allow for different amounts of fuel to be drawn into the flame. Too much fuel and the flame will flare and soot; too little fuel and the flame will sputter out.

A quality made candle will create virtually no smoke when burned. However, if the wick becomes too long, or an air current disturbs the flame's teardrop shape, small amounts of unburned carbon particles (soot) will escape from the flame as a visible wisp of smoke. Self Trimming Wicks will help prevent soot from occurring.

Park Avenue Candles will never use lead wicks. Lead wicks have been officially banned in the United States since 2003, and before then they were primarily limited to inexpensive imported candles.

Park Avenue candles are made using the finest blends of paraffin wax available on the market to produce clean and long burning pillars.
